Welcome tO THE CREW Research Lab
California State University, Los Angeles

About Us
The Collaborative Research on Educational-equity and Wellbeing (CREW) Lab studies how students from K-12 and higher education navigate educational systems. In particular, we investigate risks and challenges that students face based on holding one or more marginalizing identities (e.g., disability, racial/ethnic background, immigration status), and how systems can be designed from the ground up to promote true belonging and wellbeing for all of our youth.
Our Current Research Focus:
At (CREW) Lab, our lab’s mission is to contribute to effective and sustainable prevention and intervention efforts for our most vulnerable youth. We understand the complexity of exploring students’ lived experiences and use frameworks such as Intersectionality and Social-Ecological theory, and Social Domain Theory.
We believe in the need to conduct research at multiple levels in a student’s social ecology. We conduct school-based, ecologically valid applied research using mixed methods approaches.
