Kyuwon Lee is a third-year graduate student pursuing an Ed.S. in School Psychology with an Applied Behavioral Analysis certification track at California State University, Los Angeles. Her pronouns are She/Her/Hers.
Prior to Kyuwon's graduate training, she completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Kyuwon completed an honors personal research work focused on analyzing school-based interventions for anxiety for students with and without ASD under the guidance of Dr. Julia Cox. She worked as a special education assistant in a reading intervention program (Intensive Diagnostic Education Center) at LAUSD, providing reading intervention for students with SLD.
Kyuwon worked as a lead ABA behavior interventionist for several years, providing training and direct behavior support for children in home, schools, and clinic settings. Kyuwon served as the president of the School Psychology Student Association in the 2024-2025 school year and gained practicum experience at Torrance Unified School District.
Kyuwon presented a research poster at the NASP Annual Convention 2025 in Seattle, Washington on supporting students with reading difficulties through an ecological perspective under the guidance of Dr. Gopaul-Knights. Her current research interests are on increasing support for English Learner students and students of immigration backgrounds to navigate their education experiences. Kyuwon is also interested in exploring strategies to create an inclusive learning space to support mental well-being and a sense of belonging for LGBTQ+ students.
A fun fact about Kyuwon is that she used to do rock climbing even though she is actually pretty short in height. She says that it's a challenge, but enjoys working through a good challenge!
