Maricela Avalos

Maricela Avalos is a 3rd-year in the School Psychology program at California State University, Los Angeles. Her research background was developed under the guidance of multiple professors during her time at the University of California, Los Angeles, as a History major.

Maricela honed her interest in educational disparities, early childhood education, and social justice by serving communities across Los Angeles and Orange counties as an AmeriCorps volunteer for 4 years with over 5000 hours of volunteer experience with the federal government.

A fun fact about Maricela is that she can bend her pinky fingers at a 90-degree angle!
