Blanca Muro-Montoya (she/her/ella) is a first-year graduate student pursuing an Ed.S. in School Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles. She graduated from California State University, San Bernardino in Spring of 2024 and aims to become a school psychologist.

During her undergraduate studies, Blanca worked as a research assistant in two labs: the Social Psychology Research Lab at CSUSB and the Brauer Group Lab at UW-Madison. In these roles, she investigated the relationship between race, gender, and pro-environmental behaviors, and explored how social norms can influence individual behavior.

As an undergraduate student, she had the opportunity to share her research as poster and oral presentations at conferences like the 2024 Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) in San Diego, California, and the 2023 Psychology Research Experience (PREP) Symposium in Madison, Wisconsin.

Her experiences as an undergraduate student researcher and former paraprofessional have greatly influenced her current research interests, which lie at the intersection of psychology, equitable education, and mental health. She aspires to further contribute to research and applied work that facilitates access to high-quality psychological and educational support for all students, particularly those from underserved or marginalized communities.

A fun fact about Blanca is that she wrestled her 4 years of high school!
